Public Speaking
“Totally inspiring, deeply emotive and somehow had us laughing at the same time.”
- CIPFA Conference
Alice Thompson-Boyd co-founded the social enterprise, Social Bite, bringing George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Harry & Meghan to Scotland to support their mission – ending homelessness in Scotland. Social Bite distributed more than 150,000 meals annually, hired a third of its staff from homelessness and implemented the largest Housing First policy in the UK, in partnership with the Scottish Government, housing over 700 people.
She holds three Honorary Doctorate Degrees and an ITV Pride of Britain Award.
But behind the public facing accolades was a quieter, harder story – burnouts that led to a severe breakdown including some unnerving periods of depression and psychosis – which led her to a new chapter focusing on what really drives behaviour and our sense of purpose, understanding our neurobiology and what healing from burnout and coping with change really looks like.
She tells her story warts and all – with a candid approach to what it means to land A-list celebrity advocates for your business and how her journey through burnout and psychosis ultimately gave her life’s most effective tools.
Today, Alice is a Therapeutic Coach & Enneagram Facilitator with more than 2,000 hours of experience working with individuals and teams navigating organisational change or personal cross-roads - and of course professional burnout.
Her signature Deep Work Coaching Programme blends the Enneagram of Personality, cognitive behavioural coaching, neurobiology, breathwork, somatic body work and Internal Family Systems – a framework she wishes she’d had when navigating her own personal and professional crossroads.
She certified in Applied Neurobiology, Brené Brown’s Dare To Lead certification, and is currently undertaking advanced psychotherapy training, deepening her expertise in personality, shadow work, and the psychology of change.
She works with people and teams who are ready to do the real work. Talks and workshop themes include:
Navigating Change (60 Mins) - Lessons from Alice’s Social Bite journey, moving through to the neurobiology of change and fear - and how we can overcome it by using the power of our brain’s “interoceptive awareness function”
Overcoming the Fear of Failure (90 Mins) - A Journey through the Social Bite journey, to the neurobiology of change and fear - and how we can overcome it
Find Your Values & Purpose Workshop (3 - 5 hours depending on your event schedule’s preference) - For senior teams of no more than 8, or individuals
Discover the Enneagram (Part 1) (5 Hours) - Discover how the Enneagram works to create accurate self awareness & much deeper understanding of yourself and others
Vulnerability in the Workplace (Optional Part 2) (3 - 5 Hours depending on your event schedule’s preference)- Blending Brené Brown’s Dare to Lead approach with the Enneagram to create a deeply transformational interactive session where team members learn how they armour up, what defences they’re unintentionally using, and how they can feel more safe at work so they can show up for each other with support and understanding, empowering them to get the most meaningful work done
Working with the Enneagram (Optional Part 2 or 3) (3 Hours) - An Internal Family Systems approach that applies breathwork and somatic body intelligence to healing our wounded parts - for wellbeing events or heart led teams seeking deep work with explicit consent from all team members
“A heartfelt, brutally honest and commanding speaker who moved the audience to tears. She left us motivated & inspired to be a little bit braver.”
